After a long off-season, it is time to get back into the “groove of racing!”
The Big 8 Series opens the 2020 season with a double header weekend starting Saturday, July 4th at Rockford Speedway with the Start Spangled 76 and then the action continues at Slinger Super Speedway on Sunday, July 5th for the Prelude to the Nationals. This will be the 1st time since 2014 that the Big 8 Late Model Series have ran at the “World’s Fastest Quarter Mile.” The Entry Forms and Schedule of events are now available for both events at big8latemodels.com under the ‘entries’ tab.
Saturdays event will be highlighted by the Big 8 Late Model Series ‘Star Spangled 76’ and will be joined by the American Short Trackers, Road Runner Midnight Ride, the Flagpole Challenge, Spectator Drags, and a stunning fireworks show!
Fans are encouraged to buy general admission tickets in advance to guarantee admission into the grandstands, tickets are available now at: https://www.tix.com/ticket-sales/rockfordspeedway/26/event/1183176
Fans are encouraged to wear masks as well as practice social distancing if you do not feel well please be responsible and stay home.
Pit Gates Open at 2PM, Practice at 4:45PM, Spectator Gates open at 5PM, qualifying beings at 6PM with the first race at 7:07PM!

Sundays ‘Prelude to the Nationals’ will also be highlighted by the Big 8 Late Model Series running a full program of preliminary events leading up to the 88-lap feature event. Also, in action will be the Slinger Bees, Slinger Sixers, Hobby Stocks, Modifieds, and the Wild ‘n Crazy Figure 8’s!
Pit Gates opens at 2:30PM, Practice at 4:00PM, Fan gates open at 4:45 PM, Qualifying will take place at 5:10, and Racing is slated to start at 6:30 PM.
Adults $15, Seniors $9, Students 12-17 $9, Kids 6-11 $3, and Kids 5 & Under are FREE!
