Nine Events Highlight Iconic 2025 Season

The Big 8 Late Model Series is excited to announce our 2025 schedule, marking a milestone 21st full season of thrilling short-track racing. With nine events on tap—the most since 2022—this year’s slate promises to deliver a blend of tradition, competition, and excitement for both drivers and fans.

The season kicks off on Saturday, April 26, with the 48th Annual Spring Classic at Grundy County Speedway. For the second year, this cherished event will set the tone for what’s shaping up to be a fantastic year of racing.

Next, the action moves to Madison International Speedway on Friday, May 23, followed by a return to the popular Hawkeye Downs Speedway for Clash at the Downs XI on Friday, June 6. Grundy County Speedway makes a second appearance with the “Midnight Ride Night” on Saturday, June 28. The series then returns to Hawkeye Downs as part of their 100-year anniversary celebration with the “Frontier Park 48” honoring the original name of the property.

Another standout moment on the schedule is the series’ return to Tomah-Sparta Speedway on Friday, August 8, following a hiatus in 2024. The Big 8’s comeback to this venue is sure to reignite excitement in the local racing community.

Other highlights include Union 464 Night at Madison International Speedway on Friday, August 1, and the 60th National Short Track Championships at Dells Raceway Park on Saturday, September 13, a historic event that consistently draws top talent from around the area.

The season culminates on Saturday, October 4, with the 56th Annual Oktoberfest Race Weekend at LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway. This iconic event will once again serve as the grand finale, providing a fitting end to a season that is sure to be packed with unforgettable moments.
